Chris Hemsworth: Cooley’s passion for ‘Transformers’ universe is ‘contagious'

Hollywood star Chris Hemsworth, who has voiced the character of Optimus Prime in the animated film ‘Transformers One’, has lauded director Josh Cooley, and has said that the latter’s optimism, passion for the Transformers universe is contagious.  ‘Transformers One’ delves into the deep bond between Orion Pax and D-16, shedding light on the events that ultimately led to their epic clash. Chris Hemsworth said, “Cooley’s unfettered optimism, passion and enthusiasm for this world was contagious, and the amount of knowledge he accumulated in his research was indispensable. The visuals are stunning and action-packed. The colours, the tones, the details all feel fresh and unique. Such complexity was put into designing the fight scenes and developing a distinctive style for each character”. He further mentioned, “It all adds up to a movie that is exciting, fun and wildly entertaining. But Cooley never lost sight of the heart of the story. The point of the story in the director’s eyes always remains two individuals and their parallel journeys of self-discovery. At times it’s a hilarious bromance about two best friends — who end up trying to kill each other. But up until that point, there is a lot of fun to be had”. The film also stars the voice cast led by Chris Hemsworth, Brian Tyree Henry, and Scarlett Johansson, Keegan-Michael Key, Steve Buscemi, Laurence Fishburne, and Jon Hamm. Unlike the live-action Transformers movies, ‘Transformers One’ presents a fresh narrative, revealing the character’s transformative journey. The film delves into the deep bond between Orion Pax and D-16, shedding light on the events that ultimately led to their epic clash. Paramount Pictures is set to release ‘Transformers One’ in India on September 20 in English & Hindi in 2D, 3D, 4D & IMAX (3D) formats. Lady Gaga: I've been used to lies being printed about me since I was 20 years ol

Lady Gaga recently opened up on why she stayed silent on persistent rumours from earlier in her career that claimed she was actually a man. The pop superstar, who is also known for pushing boundaries, first addressed the rumour in a 2011 CNN interview, where she boldly stated, "Why the hell am I going to waste my time and give a press release about whether or not I have a penis? My fans don't care and neither do I." Now, years later, the 'Joker: Folie a Deux' actor offered more details during her appearance on Netflix's What's Next? The Future With Bill Gates.  "When I was in my early 20s, there was a rumor that I was a man. I went all over the world for tours and interviews, and almost every time I sat down, they'd ask, 'There are rumors that you're a man. What do you have to say about that?'," Gaga explained to Bill Gates in the episode. Despite being constantly questioned, the singer-actress said she never responded because she didn't feel like a victim. "I thought: What about a kid who is being accused of that? Would they think that a public figure like me would feel shame?" Gaga said. "I've been in situations where fixing a rumor was not in the best interest of the well-being of other people. In that case, I tried to be thought-provoking and disruptive in another way. I used the misinformation to create another disruptive point," she added.  Speaking about how over time, she has grown used to false stories about her, Gaga shared, "I've been used to lies being printed about me since I was 20 years old. I'm a performer. I think it's kind of funny." The Grammy-winning singer, who is often known for her fearless approach to music and fashion, later moved into acting with her role in in 'A Star Is Born (2018).' She will next be seen in the upcoming Joker: Folie a Deux, which is set to release on October 4. This story has been sourced from a third party syndicated feed, agencies. Selena Gomez's film 'Emilia Perez' selected as France's entry for Oscars 2025

France has officially chosen Jacques Audiard's innovative queer crime musical, 'Emilia Perez', as its entry for the Best International Feature category at the upcoming 2025 Academy Awards. The news has been confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter. The film features a dynamic cast, including Zoe Saldana, Selena Gomez, Adriana Paz, and Spanish actress Karla Sofia Gascon. 'Emilia Perez' tells the compelling story of a Mexican drug lord, portrayed by Gascon, who seeks the assistance of a lawyer, played by Saldana, to undergo gender-affirming surgery. The film, which blends genres in a unique way, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, where it garnered significant acclaim, winning the Jury Prize and a shared Best Actress award for its ensemble cast. Director Jacques Audiard is no stranger to the Academy, having been nominated for an Oscar for his film 'A Prophet' in 2009. His previous works include acclaimed titles such as 'Rust and Bone' (2012), 'The Sisters Brothers' (2018), and 'Dheepan' (2015). France has a storied history in the Best International Feature category, having won the award 12 times. However, the country has not taken home the Oscar since 1992, when Regis Wargnier's 'Indochine' won. In recent years, France has faced challenges in securing nominations, with last year's entry, 'The Taste of Things', and the 2022 film 'Titane' failing to make the final cut. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Oscar selection committee in France has faced increased scrutiny to improve its track record, especially after opting for 'The Taste of Things', a foodie romantic drama, over Justine Triet's 'Anatomy of a Fall', which won the Palme d'Or and went on to receive five Oscar nominations, including one win for Best Original Screenplay. The submission deadline for the 96th Academy Awards is November 14, with the shortlist for Best International Feature to be revealed on December 17. Nominations will follow on January 17, 2025, leading up to the awards ceremony scheduled for Sunday, March 2, 2025.

Eva Mendes

Eva Mendes will return for good roles

It has been 10 years since Eva Mendes last appeared on the big screen, in the fantasy thriller, Lost River (2014). However, she is keeping a door open for a potential return to acting. The Fast Five (2011) actor recently stopped by on the set of Good Morning America to chat about her debut children’s book, Desi, Mami, and the Never-Ending Worries. When asked if she would ever come back to Hollywood, Mendes said, “I don’t know. [Maybe] if there’s interesting roles. I left at a time where, 10 years ago, I kind of felt like I did it, I [had] just worked with Ryan Gosling. He’s like the best.”  Calling it a high of my career to work with Gosling, she added, “What we created together that I was like, ‘This is a good time to Seinfeld it and just walk out.’ So, who knows?” For the uninitiated, Seinfeld ended abruptly after season nine, despite being popular, as co-creator and star Jerry Seinfeld felt it was the right time to end the series. Mendes took a step back from acting to focus on raising Gosling and her two daughters, Esmeralda Amada, nine, and Amada Lee, seven, as well as other career endeavours.  “It was a no-brainer,” she previously told the Today show. “I’m so lucky, if I could have this time with my children, and still work. I just didn’t act, because acting takes you on location. It takes you away. It was almost like a non-verbal agreement that he [Gosling] is going to work and I’m going to work. I’m just going to work here.’” While the couple have kept their relationship private over the years, they have continued to find subtle ways to show their support for each other, such as Mendes’ sweet Instagram post following Gosling’s dazzling, “I’m Just Ken” Oscar performance earlier this year. Nicole Kidman shares her insecurities: 'My whole life, I wanted to be 5'2'

Actor Nicole Kidman, who is counted among the style icons, has opened up about her insecurities as a youth especially when it comes to the way she looks, reported People. In a new docuseries, the Oscar winner discusses the parameters of fashion in the 90s.Kidman, who was regarded as one of the most promising young stars of the 1990s, was the next in line to don an item of clothing designed by designer John Galliano just for her to wear to the 1997 Oscars. When Galliano approached her, the 'Hours' actor recalled that there was a lot going on in her mind concerning her body image and how she felt about the dress that was specially created for her."Can you believe it?" Kidman said, adding, "My whole life, I wanted to be 5'2" and curvaceous and suddenly, being 5'11 and completely sort of skinny and flat-chested was like, 'Great, we can dress you.' So I remember thinking, but of course, this should be brought into Hollywood now, and we should be wearing the things that are made in these gorgeous little salons in Paris. Because that's what they used to do, so why aren't we still doing it?"Kidman recalled the night she wore the dress designed by Galliano, "I mean, I was a red-headed, fair-skinned girl who was almost 5'11 at the age of 14," she said."I would get teased, and it wasn't kind.
